This is rather puzzling for me because I use SMP, for which APM is
disabled by the kernel due to lack of hardware support. ACPI, however,
works but does not seem to contain any monitor-specific features such as
blanking and standby. I do
that option.. Never actually thought
it did.. I am still looking though to make sure this is the best/only solution.

I've got acpi working and I use it for other power management but not
for the monitor shutdown, could you suggest me a place where I can read
about it, please?
