I tried arecord (with arguments): arecord -v -f cd -d 20 -D hw:0,1 blabla.wav The file is stopped by Ctrl-c, of size 100000 or something and doesn't play anything when used with aplay. Only complaints given by arecord is that it records a mono sound of 8000 Khz in stead of requested cd sound 44100 Hz.
