Try downgrading to linux-headers-2.4.19-r1. That fixed it for me. After emerging kdemultimedia, I upgraded back to linux-headers-2.4.21. linux-headers-2.4.21 breaks some other packages as well, like xcdroast. There has been some discussion about this recently in the lists and Bugzilla, but I
