[gentoo-user] 2.6.19-r1 won't boot - arcmsr?

I have a Dell server that runs Gentoo. I have been running kernel 2.6.18-r3 with the third party arcmsr add on driver without any problems. I have tried to upgrade to 2.6.19-r1 with the kernels inbuild arcmsr driver but I cannot get it to boot. It says that it cannot find the root fs on sdc3.

Dave, This may sound goofy...but do you have any external drives connected to you box, ie, USB, ieee, or card readers? When I had my extenal USB hard disk turned on or my internal card readers connected when I booted Gentoo, boot would stop and it would say the same thing...cannot find the root
