After a lot of research I have decided to go with Gentoo, and I think I have all the install issues ironed out. My main concern is with compatiblity issues and my mobo. I have read a ton of horror stories, and I want to make sure I am prepared for any issues that could arise when I install

I just installed the amd64 Gentoo build on nforce 4. No issues whatsoever (except when I was using a 2004.3 cd... once I got the right one it was all working).As Richard said, using a hardware raid is not going to be easy, however an lvm or software raid shouldn't cause you any problems.
