minutes to boot! Maybe that's because it uses the genkernel crap ?

delved into that once and I just remember getting nowhere. Does
anyone use one they like? Preferrably one with an ebuild and not
dependent on K stuff.
You could write yourself a little frontend with zenity (or similar) to
feed the right parameters to mplayer.

readable by the user.)
Does your kernel have the real time clock feature turned on? There are
several ...RTC... settings in my kernel.

have no problems. According to the drive enclosure advertisements,
metal case is better for heat dissipation, but I have no hard
evidence. These units have the standard external AC-DC chunky
blocks.

Just a thought - check to see if the printer was defined as default
during setup. If not, mark your printer as default. That alone would
cause other applications not to work.

said and done, I discovered that the automatic dependancy selection
had not included the keyboard and mouse modules for xorg, so I had to
emerge these manually.
Also I didn't have much sucess using 'X -configure'. I had to copy
over an existin xorg.conf and make modifications.
