You seem to have added them to package.unmask as well. Don't do that.

Hey again!Im having issues.I saw on the gentoo forums that kdelibs-3.5.1 isn't on the servers yet, but I cant seem to get it to go down to 3.5.0. In order for me to get 3.5 anything I needed to unmask all of the packages
im building in package.keywords. So I get:#USE=-arts alsa emerge -p kicker

What should I do?
Throw the whole 3.5 dir away. (Tar it up first, if you wish to play
it safe.)
Also clean out any *kde*3.5 files from /etc/env.d and run
env-update.sh.

Just set USE=-arts in make.conf
Then emerge whatever KDE stuff you want. Arts will stay away.

No, leave out the kdesktop, it will get pulled in automatically, at
least here it did. Also, you won't need kcontrol if you don't want
to adjust anything. But don't you want kmail and konqueror?

How about:
cd /var/db/pkg
for x in kde-base/*-3.5*; do
emerge --unmerge
Thanks for the help!I want to get rid of 3.5 because of incompatabilities with my mouse (through ksynaptics)and themes. Ill probably install it again when 3.5.1 is out or something. :)Ian

/etc/packages.keyword, it should install 3.4.3. This command will

Hey everyone.
Here is my situation. Its a rather long one:
I want to get kde 3.4.3 without arts. At all.
I am hoping to go USE=-arts +alsa emerge =kde-3.4.3
That seems easy, but it isn't.
I already have 3.4.1 installed. As well as 3.5.0.
I think I used the split ebuild thing (grrr) which
