Nevermind. Got it figured out. The eraser tool is a nice substitute for the
paintbrush tool in this situation. ;)

them all to maintain their
original size until I've edited them and am ready to crop/resize them to fit the
first layer's size.
I've tried Fit Canvas to Layers. It doesn't fix the problem.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you! That helps a lot!
I have another question if you can/want to answer it: is there a way to see the
image under the black mask layer? I keep having to go to Layer > Mask > Show
Layer Mask and selecting/de-selecting it
that anyone could offer would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Oh, I see now that you attached an example. Thanks! I'll try to do what you
did and will come back if it still doesn't work for me.

eps getting added to the colored layer.
I've attached a snapshot of what this all looks like.
I'd really appreciate further explanation about what to do from here (from
anyone who's reading).
Thanks.

. The image is PNG if that
makes any difference. I've attached it to this thread. If you have any tips,
I'd greatly appreciate them. I'm about to rip my hair out. x_x
Thanks!
