Personally, I'd think the idea behind the "Link" buttons is that any changes
you make to the brush settings in the Tool Options will be reflected in the
brush file (as if you'd made those changes in the Brush Editor) and, thus, when
you pick that brush again it will have the same settings you

Not necessarily, but as Liam pointed out there are various ways to reduce the
fiddle factor: in the rectangle select's tool
Thank you for your hint.

Since I am new I maybe make mistakes where and how to ask.
After going through publicly available posts I signed up to ask my question
since I could not find a solution/answer.
Is Gimp 2.10.x supposed to work with a lenovo yoga book?
I tried to find out what the manufacturer of the
Not what I would call obvious - but its the answer the OP was looking for.
Thanks.

don't shut gimp down periodically, My system will start to freeze up.
Closing all the active images inside of gimp has no effect on it's
memory usage.
Most information should be in the screenshot. Happy to provide anything
Hold on, this is apparently a new feature not a bug. There's a new set of
buttons in the toolboxes called "link to brush default" (next to the "reset to
native size" buttons) and these are on by default. Turn it off and you should
be good to go.

Hi all, I have GimpĀ 2.8.22 installed afresh on a new [replacement] internal HD
running OSX v10.13.5. Untill now I have been using Gimp 2.8.16 from a separate
[external] bootable drive. I noticed when I test booted the new installation of
Gimp that I would like to import the Gimp window

Dear list members,
I wrote a script that adds an outline to the text. The script works as I
expected with on exception. When it finished, it removes all textual
information and converts the text into graphics. Could anyone give me an advice
how to modify the script in order to keep the textual
