I think, it's a bug of 2.4 rc2
I use gimp 2.4 rc2 on windows xp pro sp2
when I copy some new font file into gimp font folder
like C:\Documents and Settings\user name\.gimp-2.4\fonts
and refresh font dialog of gimp, then new fonts must be displayed
in the dialog. but they wasn't.

Of course!
on gimp 2 .2.17, I can use all fonts just by copying into those
folders.(about 800 fonts)
but gimp 2.4 rc2 I can't
