Thank you Ben, and all who responded.
Yes, that was the overwhelming consensus, the single router/firewall
solution feeding two gateways. It makes perfect sense.
Have a great weekend.

You're better off having a single router, as the sole

Would a Networking expert mind giving me a call (or I can call them) to
discuss the best way to have two ISP's, on my home network, with the
ability to easily switch back and forth?

Hey folks,

my house... I've had it for over a year now and what I did was this:
I completely bypassed the D-Link non-wifi router they supplied and
instead took the Cat5E cable coming out of the FiOS box in my basement

The Linksys firmware for the WRT54G does not allow use as an Access

One more thing I forgot to mention.
I have a Vonage ATA plugged into the LAN side of the Linksys WiFi
router.. Will I be able to leave it there?
I *could* plug it into the LAN side of the D-Link ... but I'd have to
do some rewiring to pull that off.

Possibly. They may have pre-configured it for you. Otherwise,
you'll need to plug in your PPPoE username and password into the
D-Link.

You should be able to. The idea is to create one big happy LAN on
the LAN side of the router function of the D-Link box, and disable the
OK,
Update:
Plugged the FiOS into the WAN port on the D-Link. Connected a LAN
cable from the D-Link to the
jack in the basement wall, turned off DHCP on the Linksys WiFi router
and turned on networking via DHCP on the laptops.
So, the WiFi network upstairs and the Vonage ATA is working.

OK, Figured out in YAST what needed to be changed... ran through the

Ok, i think i figured out, on the D-Link interface, how to
port-forward ports 80 and 22, so, from outside my network (tested it
from grace.speakeasy.net) i can ssh to and open a web page on the SuSE
box on my internal network!
I'm still trying to figure out
