Wednesday, January 26, 2005 According to the New York Post, quoting several sources, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio are holding preliminary talks on a possible merger. Although this would create a monopoly in the satellite radio industry, the two companies are understood to be hoping a deal would be allowed if the Federal Communications Commission considers satellite radio as part of a broader industry delivering music and other content through mobile devices, such as cellphones.
