While Vista-office EHR generates a lot of interests

Hi All,
Does VistA has a formal set of file/data descriptions for the globals
defined?
If so, where is the document set(s), or better the definitions in global(s)?
I remember the Sanchez/Profile products have their proper file/data
definitions
in global. I have rearranged their definitions
Apparently I have touched on a big subject without knowing.
Thanks all for the help and advice, especially Roy, Kevin, Nancy, Gregory
and Mike
for their insights.
VistA being originated from VA sites and bounded to serve it's purpose first
is
understandable. It is also vital to register
the identification, authentication and authorization for Role Based
Access Control aka RBAC) or ^DI (VA FileMan), and not get the No Home
Device message.

close by itself as well.
Am browsing the CPRS_GUI_Clinican_Guide.doc for instructions and
hints. Will go to the va ftp site for more information. Wonder if other
pointers, or resources will be helpful as well?

Thanks Nancy,
The problem is fixed after rerun the installation script a couple times.
Don't remenber exactly what I did differently though.
It sure is helpful to remember the observations for the next installation
especially during this 'test and trial' stage of learing VistA.

I like to use the word archaic as opposed to clumsy. I am sure there will
be many new features added to the VOE.

Hi Michael,
I got a syntax error for setting $I to something.
I guess because $I is an internal variable for the system.
Based on the error message, I thing the 4th piece of my setup is @,
therefore, it is setting up for a programmer environment, which is fine.
I have to explore further to
Hi Cameron,
Don't quite understand the whole message, can you elaborate a little
bit more? For example, on the DEVICE file and CONSOLE entry.
How can I avoid getting that error message and proceed to the next
step and beyond?
Thanks and regards

Hi Mike,
I believe, some years back, a company called ATLAS help to install VistA
for the ministry of health in Saskatchewan. There should be some
VistA adoptor in Canada, just keeping a low-profile I image.
I doubt anyone will spend great effort to incorporate billing for a single
province.
Hi Nancy:
Just beginning to explore the Vist/CPRS, I am wondering if there
are some big changes to the CPRS routines e.g. XWBTCPC. The
the installation guide in the Hardhat.org site doesn't seem to be
accurate for the most recent (August) version of Cache.dat d/l.
I had a Cache.dat download
Thanks Nancy and Michael,
Thanks for the help on 'Access code' and 'Device file.'
Will try to run the installation again later today
and report at which step 'device file' message comes up.
Thanks

Hi Jim,
Good to hear from you. I still remember the ride to the MGH demo site for
the
largest client-server hospital system hosted by Intersystem's technology.
I did try to web-interface CoSTAR using weblink back in the 1999-2000, since
then
