Hi everyone,
A reporter from the Jerusalem Post interviewed me today about
Hereville by Barry Deutsch, this year's winner in the Older Readers
category for the Sydney Taylor Book Awards. He is seeking kids to
interview for his article nothing detailed, just wants to basically

Messages and opinions expressed on Hasafran are those of the individual author
and are not necessarily endorsed by the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL)
At Shaarey Zedek, East Lansing, MI, we added these criteria:
1. No duplicates
2. Jewish topic, not merely Jewish author. For example, we kept
Heller's GOD KNOWS, but discarded GOOD AS GOLD.
3. Unless we anticipated high demand, we discarded volumes of
limited research interest IF they

Question:
If the reviews are going to be password protected on the AJL website,
doesn't the link from/to Amazon reviews defeat the purpose of members'
exclusivity?
In other words: should we consider making the reviews an open-access
site that we can share with interested users?

The 2010 issues are not freely available because of a 1 year 'moving wall'.
ALL digital content of previous and current issues will be available to
members once the new website is aired and password capabilities are in
place. We already have the 2010 PDFs ready for posting online.

One of my students is extremely talented and artistic and would like
to pursue this after graduating high school but does not want to

Hi,
I am a recent graduate of Rutgers University with my MLIS. I just
heard about AJL through Rutgers. Do you know of any jobs in Judaic
Librarianship in the New Jersey area? Prior to attending graduate

My lovely temple library is being moved to another space within the
temple, and there is great interest in up-dating it
technologically. I have been given the task of finding someone to

Hello fellow Safranim,
As some of you may know, I recently took over the weekly link roundup
for the AJL's People of the Books blog. Given that there are so many
of us who probably come across new (and old) web resources that would
be of great use to the members of the AJL community, I

I have someone trying to find information on a book, Uzu and Muzu by

She is hoping to purchase copies in both English and Hebrew, so if

Hello,
