Toby, I am so sorry to hear this news, but glad to hear you are embracing the
next chapter. I will be so sorry to miss seeing you at AJL and I really hope
you will continue to stay involved!

I share your mixed emotions. It was almost two years ago (where has the time
gone?) that the school where I worked for 24 years moved to a location that had
no space for a library--and no need for a librarian.
After packing thousands of books, hoping these treasures would someday be again
used
Toby was a valued AJL member. She chaired an excellent conference in Seattle
and continued as the National Conference Chair for several years.
The decision of her synagogue's leadership is not an isolated case. Every time
when I hear of such decisions, I feel a personal pain.
