We're working on a mandatory update for TF2. We should have it ready soon.

Eric, i have just finished a full install of a tf2 server and getting
spammed with this at startup.
If anyone else is seeing this, will it be fixed in this update?
I have tried using -verify_all
Failed to load $include VMT file (materials/METAL/METALCHROME001.vmt)

We've released a mandatory update to Team Fortress 2. The notes for the update
are below.

Team Fortress 2
- Added The Front Runner
- Added new promotional items
- Added the UGC Highlander Season 6 medals
- Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented servers from
- \x08 followed by a hex code with alpha in RRGGBBAA format
Does this mean we can half alpha values? Will I have to worry about people
using colorful invisible language?
Is there a CVAR to disable colors? As nice as they are I can already see
the colored chat spam.
Well we certainly do NOT want this for any client to use... I can foresee
all kinds of issues going forward if people are allowed to randomly change
colors of text without any sort of control.

Players cannot use the custom colors. They are for plugin/mod authors.

You hook the function in steamclient.so and store it in the proper
place until Steam_FreeLastCallback is called.
It doesn't really matter anyway since it doesn't work. I have tried it
numerous times and also tried other enums and status codes in a for
loop.

Hey is the item server down for everyone else? Is there an ETA for when
it will be back?

It's back up for any admins whose users were complaining.

It amounts to the same problem. In fact it'll probably be worse at least
you can mute clients.
Please add something to disable this client side.

Yes, avoiding crappy servers usually works best but since most of us
here run our own servers, it isn't even an issue for us.

I could but it's not really game changing and so doing that would just
reduce the number of servers where you might get a decent game from
