acting like that and how can i get around that one
server per core limit? Note here that hlds can handle multiple 1000fps
servers fine with that setup until it runs out of cpu power.
Looking forward to any suggestions, comments, idears on this one ... i
ran out of those.

I still see some spikes in net_graph2 at round start (around 550), but
that could be normal for reseting all the objects i recon.
So besides FPS not beeing as stable as they used to be, everything seems
ok with the beta.

on _all_ of our updatet Servers.
We are running debian Etch.
Whats the status of a fix for this ?

Sorry Alfred ... this does not seem to do any good.
Ive reverted the servers back again to build 2949, wich provides good
performing, lag-free servers for our customers.

With and without VAC the same, cant tell difference in the timeframe in

Since most of the guys complaining about the bad performance claim to

Ive heard from several sides that Source seems to be unplayable after
the last update.
I just checked and it feels in deed weird because it seems like the game
is hanging every now and then for some ms.
Ping is ok, server is idle .. so guess what it might cause ...
Any hints or confirms are

We notice that our customers are trying to increase the sys_ticrate of
our hlds servers at outragous numbers (something like 2000), for
whatever community nonsene reasons that are floating around atm. ( i
dont want get into that sort of discussion)
This results in jumpy FPS on the hlds itself AND
Seems like they just fixed it (again).
I had the same Problem for aprox 1-2 hours (no content servers), but now
they seem back up (for now).

Hi folks,
ive just noticed (because another server on the box was not able to
start) that srcds is using 2 udp ports besides the chosen -port not
counting the tv port.
That surprised me a bit because i cant think of a setting to choose the
second port.

Yes the gamers do, but the problem lies with the valve server browser.
Not matter what you select the list to be sorted by, the browser always
starts refreshing at low ipranges and works upwards to higher ranges.
Because of that fact most Gamers wont even see Servers with ranges above

Hi folks,
ive noticed that our servers are not or only very random showing up in
the server browser.
I think this is due to the fact the we got a 212. network and the ingame
browser starts at low ips and works upwards.
Not only that this query system puts gsps in disadvantage who got high

I just began to wonder if the server setting rate is obsolete.
I can't change it anymore from the console, so my guess was if sv_max
and minrate just replaced it?
console of my CSS Server:
rate
rate = 1
- Max bytes/sec the host can receive data
rate 25000
rate
rate = 1
- Max bytes/sec
