scratching the tape will uncatalog the file.

A way to simulate this is to accumulate the stem elements to a string and
then iterate through them.
If jobs is a string of job names...

TS1120 drives use 3592 tapes only (JA and JB). 3590 tapes only work in
3590 drives. We have both in our shop. 3590 has a leader block. 3592 has a
leader pin. They are not interchangeable.

The Return command (PF4) does the same thing. I used that for many years
until I found the Bye command that does the same thing as Return plus it
will log out of TSO. Return is an ISPF command. Bye looks like it was
setup in house, but I'm not sure.

2. The temporary file that edit uses until you save your edits may be
too small.
I may be wrong, but I always thought that ISPF EDIT used memory only,
except when submitting jobs.
Of course, it's also been over 20 years since I directly supported ISPF.
