I don't think WordPad allows you to have multiple documents open at once. But when you want a new document just press control N the way you would in most other Microsoft programs. The difference is you will be prompted to save the first document before a new one is created if you haven't done so

I think so too. I use it mostly for quick notes, parking and copying. Naturally, we will have a blank document there when opening. Well, I just went over there, wrote a few lines, saved as temporary. Then I hit Control W to Close the document there and hit Control N, and got a clean slate

I'm not certain if this is newsworthy but if you are using K1000 for scanning you can also use VW James with Jaws. I don't know if this voice is availablbe with Openbook since I don't use that program. However, I think James is the most human sounding voices of the voices I have used so far.
