Lenny,
Bummer. I lost a 2 Tb drive a few months back. Fortunately I was able to get
it to read sporadically enough to gather the data that was essential, then I
cut it open with pliers and a screwdriver to see what makes it tick. Now a
new 4 Tb replaced it.

Yes, now I will insert a caveat that these are running on an XP operating
system at 32 bits. I hear that access times are affected by this
combination, but I do have full access to the 4 Tb. And these are internal
drives connected using SATA.

Su
Sandy,
Beginner mode tells you a lot of information. Advanced mode tells you less
information, but still enough to let you know where you are. As he said, try
setting to advanced and do your usual stuff, then set to beginner and do the
same. Compare your results.

Sounds like your isp server is down. How long has this been happening?

JM,
However Jerry indicated that this is intermittent, so his settings are
correct some of the time. I don't see that being the issue. But calling
Comcast to complain might result in something.

VFO put an auto
restart routine into JAWS so that it can quietly crash and restart, when
things bog down? Why not simply fix the disease, and not the symptom?'
