OK, I've checked in bug fixes for Jmol 11.6 and Jmol 11.7 that remove this
odd +1 in the blue for the Jmol background. Oddly enough, now I can't get
that effect even when I change it back or try the older Jar files. Go
figure. This is better, though.

Prior to Jmol 11.3.39, what you do is use
One LAST observation -- if you uncheck the VLC Media Player's
tools...preferences...Video...Display...[x] Accelerated video output
box, then the effect goes away.
