It should not load the structure if it is local, because it depends upon a
remote server to access the file first and transform it to base64, and the
remote server fails upon trying to access file://There obviously should
be a different message there: Sorry, your browser cannot open a local

Observations on this release: Mac OSX 10.9.2, Safari 7.0.3, Firefox 28.0
(Have not looked at 29.0 released this morning.)
Safari: NCI links give file format error

Yes - thanks - just noticed that myself and have removed that release
(again!).
Shoot! I accidentally deleted the url address for NCI in the list of known
databases. I might be able to still get this done today; probably tomorrow.

You should always see the alert in Safari, I think, if you are loading
those files from a LOCAL installation of JSmol. Or do you see that as well
at http://chemapps.stolaf.edu/jmol/jsmol/jsmol.htm ?

Bob:
I do not see those issues on the link you provided, but I note that is using an
earlier version of JSmol. This morning I was doing a local launch of test2. I
downloaded the fix (from the airport) and that works fine for Firefox (now
29.0) and the NCI links now work in both Safari and
OK, this is re-released. Please test. I would like to release it as 14.0.14
soon.
I did not check the Safari synchronous file transfer business.

Was the release 14.1.14 removed from sourceforge.nethttp://sourceforge.net?
The latest version I’m able to access is
yes, you have to be quick ;)

delayed getting that back up.

Firefox works well except for the Flexible Fit animation. While it works, at
the end of the animation no other link works. You have to reload the page. It

Two issues there - a broken color property_d command and an error such as
that should not lock up the scripting.
