Thanks for all your concerns. My geared RG 2000 engine has a flywheel and gear reduction. I do not remember saying anything about over revving or flogging my engine, I did say I started it up. Vw Engines also ran it last week without a prop, just check they fixed all the oil leaks. Phil

I have an 1835 VW engine that I will be starting soon. My question: Is it okay to start the engine and run it a minute or two or two, without damage? ( It would be convenient not to have the prop in the way) Thanks for your replys.
