Hi
Later this month my DH and I shall be travelling north to visit both the
Bowes Museum and also the Harrogate Lace Event, really looking forward to
seeing the Blackbourne exhibition at the Bowes as I've heard so much about
it. It will also be nice to attend a lace suppliers fair that we've
Hi spiders,
Another appeal for information, a student is going on holiday to the Tatra
mountains region of Poland. Are there any museums or places to visit in the
area that are lace related please.
Many thanks to you all for the wealth of information that you are all so
willing to share with
Hi all
I'm wondering if anyone can give me information about museums in northern
France/ Belgium where I would be able to see collections of Lille lace. I

lace days can anyone give me any pointers as to what to look for and any

Hi all,
Finally re-enlisted after several months break, nice to be back, but the
list seems very quiet at the moment, everyone getting ready for Christmas or
too busy making lace? Have just got home from my lace groups Christmas lunch
which was all very pleasant.
Anyhow I've just come across
Hi Jean
Men on the moon didn't seem too big a deal to me in July 1969, I was only 10
years old and desperately missing my mum who had recently died ( aged 39
from lung cancer - she never smoked but my father did by the packet load), I
had been dumped into a convent boarding school (not wanted at
Hi Bev and all

they were all absolutely beautiful and very worthy winners.

Hi spiders
The mention of Anne of Green Gables bought back a few memories, my two girls
loved those stories when they were younger, watched the films over and over.
My eldest daughter, Judy, has red hair just like Anne, which guess what she
hates (and a similar temperament). One day when I was

Reading Ruth's account of parking her new car reminded me of when my car had
to go to the garage for repair. I'd got an important meeting to attend in
Norwich, but no means of getting there (forget public transport it's a joke
where I live!), so a friend loaned me their car for the day having
Hi Jean
We get very hard water in our region, awful limescale around the taps,
clogging up the kettle etc etc. About 18 months ago we invested in a magnet
gizmo that is attached to the households incoming waterpipe, we have begun
to notice a remarkable improvement over recent months, we don't get

Hi spiders
Read this one with some amusement. The tale reads just like the song
entitled Murphy and the Bricks
which I have on CD by Noel Murphy and the Mahogany Gaspipes in session. A
very amusing collection of folk music.

History through the eyes of kids.
My DH and I loved this one, so did my students, it gave us all a much needed
laugh during coffee break, (a sad day today as it was the fureral of one of
my students). Had a scary thought though - did they all grow up and enter
Congress/Senate?

Hi Peggy

Organised a coach to the NEC this year, a very early start for some as the
coach made its first pick up at 6.15 am but we arrived at the NEC just
before 11.00 am. The trip went without any hitches until we arrived at the
NEC, despite having previously arranged and received an authority
Hello to my new Secret Pal in Australia
Thank you so much for the gifts, it was a delight to open all the little

Hi spiders
I've missed you all this past fortnight, no idea where half my e.mail has
gone but it hasn't all arrived here!
We seem to have finally conquered the problems by our ISP changing its dial

We'er having awful problems with internet connection, and telephone for that

Hi all
I have begun to laminate patterns which are either on coloured light card or

whether the pattern is likely to be used more than once - and it is quite
easy to put the pins in without pricking beforehand - I have found
