I have been hooked to anything what has to do with treads and needles. So I learned crochet knitting and embroidery before I was 10 years old. Nbody knew how to tat and I was 20 when an Indian woman teached me tatting for 1/2 hour, that was enough to begin my first hankie with 2 threads.

In my early teens I ws enchanted with crochet and knitting - learned both of them mostly from old and inadequate how-to directions. My mother knew a little about crochet but that was all the other help I had.. Then in 1950 (I think) an article on bobbin lacemaking appeared in Woman's Day
