For questions like these I recently restored the
http://lacemap.github.io/ which has been broken for most major browsers
for a while. You can all help me improve the content, with a private
email or as explained on the page. Though it's only part of the answer
as it doesn't include events.
Dear Jo, this is an amazing resource. It makes little sense to look for
lace in America, except in well known spots, but when in Europe and Britain,
I like to go with lace in mind. Amazing what you can find, and where such a
search leads you. Thank you so much for this.

Hello All! My adventures with Finnish lace started with Uudet Nyplaysmallit
from the IOLI library & I posted my samples to Flickr. It is very difficult for

The Pella thread turned out to be quite interesting. I am very
pleased that it is so uniform & smooth compared to other linen threads I
have used. Is this a characteristic of the twist, the fiber, the plies
or some combination thereof? Whatever their process, I found it easier
to tension
I hope all goes well with both of you and your eyes. I have had retina
surgery on both eyes and it has really helped.
Now if they can just control the double vision.
