Thanks for the tips both to you and Cathy. I think I should re-schedule the scan to occur one night a week and then leave it switched on - it reverts to stand-by pretty quickly anyway. I do find sometimes that it gets 'tired' as it were and I then have to switch off and reboot in any case.

Thanks - I think that McAfee deleted my .usr files as I could find .usr files in C:\Legacy and C:\Program Files\Legacy too. I tried using older ones, but it had lost data so I then opened Legacy with the 2006 .usr files restored and then opened my most recent backup and now it all looks

I see you run your virus scanner overnight - presumably that means you have to leave the power on? I have been in the habit of switching off at the wall when we go to bed. I think I only have Legacy 6 installed which is where the shortcut points to but I do see I should check that - thanks.
