Lisa,
I had tried Dennis' delete query before on a small file made to simulate
your dupes and it worked great but I wanted to be sure it would do no harm
so I tried it on my main db (a copy) hoping it would do nothing since I
didn't have your problem. It showed me 19 picture files it wanted to

Not duplicate paths but duplicate links - same path, same filename
Cathy, Ron, Brian,
I printed out the list--there are TONS as most were duplicated in the
merge mess! UGGH! It will take forever. I sure wish someone had a
merge feature for the files to merge all those that were perfect
matches!! I have a long tedious job in front of me this way! LOL
Ron,
I was able to open in Access. I resorted on the file name and VIOLA!!
Here is the first one to show up duplicated. I think this exemplifies
my problem.
IDBRIDIRIDType PicType PicOrderPicName IDBPPic PicCaption
PicDate PicDesc PicPrintPicSoundName
Always make a copy of your database before opening the copy in Access.
Once you do that, you can test what happens without compromising your
main file.

Ron,
What Lisa has are duplicate entries in the table
Not duplicate paths but duplicate links - same path, same filename -
only one picture file BUT two links
I've kept quiet on this thread as I couldn't think of any quick way
to fix this. Like Brian, I think the best help is the Picture List
Report and then going to each gallery in turn.

Lisa,
You might be able to fix this by editing at the gedcom level - if
tediously. In principle, you would export to a gedcom (giving it a
precautionary different name), open that in any text editor which
handles the file size and has Search and Replace, then locate each
duplicate and

In the Print Photo List options there is a check box
Depending on how and when the duplicates got in there, have you considered
restoring from a backup file created before the problem?
