Lew,
The only way to revert to the situation before you merged those sources
is to restore from a backup of your file.

Kirsten,
I am not convinced that this is a different problem. I have not found text and
sources jumbled up, but what seems to be happening with OOo is that it inserts
its own footnote number and doesn't use the Legacy superscript references. Does
this happen in Word?
As I mention previously,
Thanks, JL, that did it!

Kirsten,
Eureka! subject to this being the same in Word as in OOo.
I changed the Footnote reference number in OOo to Roman Numerals. The only
references which appeared in the footnotes were those relating to Vital Events

I seem to remember that on version 6 you had the option of appending when
copying a source. I just noticed that when you copy a source you can only
overwrite. Am I dreaming this? I could swear that you could append. Did
that change with version 7??

A better advice is to cut all usr. files and save them. Then past one
after another into the Legacy map and test what happens. There is a
failure in one of theese files.
New usr. files will be crated if you don,t do it this way but

I'm new here. I bought ver. 5 years ago. Then upgraded to ver. 6 and later to
