[LegacyUG] How to avoid blank page

2009-11-08 Thread Jane Sarles
Can anyone tell me how to avoid the blank page that I get on all reports
after the title page? I have checked format, page layout and include,
but do not find the option to do away with the blank page.

Jane,

I would suggest that you not eliminate that page, Jane, since it is standard
in publishing.

Of course, everyone has their own ³style,² and you may hate that page. g

There are some occasions on which you would want a blank page. Duplex printing
for example - printing both sides of the page.

Printing one side of a page (and using up twice the amount of forest in the
process) is an example where blank pages should be eliminated.

[LegacyUG] bug in a hove lable

2009-11-08 Thread Richard Van Wasshnova
In Source Detail 2nd tab Text/Comments there are 2 text boxes. To
the right of each are 3 buttons: 1) Wordwrap, 2) Spellcheck, and 3)
remove Htm.
When hovering on these buttons #2 and 3 both say Spellcheck.
Obviously #3 hover should say Remove HTM.
Has this been reported yet as a minor bug?

[LegacyUG] Define Windows printer

2009-11-08 Thread Jan Roberts
Could someone please remind me where I can define a windows printer in
Legacy? It has always been OK before, but today when I opened Legacy I got
that message - some of my fonts had mysteriously changed too, but I have
fixed that.

2009-11-08 Thread Jan Roberts
Don't worry, I did what I should have done, checked archives and although I
didn't actually find an answer it alerted me to the fact that it was in
Windows I had to define the printer. Also, all is now working properly
without me having done anything! Just one of those things I guesss.

I've been running Legacy 7 on Windows 7 since the beta. Upgraded to
release candidate when it came out, and have since upgraded to the

Thanks for the replies. . I compared the two files for duplicates, and
tagged both records. The untagged in each file were the ones missing from
the other. Worked great!

I have received a file from my cousin (a GEDCOM that I imported into an
FDB). Although many of the individuals are common, she has researched
certain branches that I have not. I am trying to find a way to get a
list ( I don't want to do any kind of auto merge) of individuals in her
file that are not in mine. I am expecting that any such comparison will
produce mostly 'valid extras' that I can choose to import or key in,
but also some false positives where we both have the same individual
but they cannot be matched because of spelling differences or other
differences in vital data such as birth date and location.

I have used GenMatcher and I can identify differences in data between
two 'matching' individuals in two files, but I can't find the unmatched
individuals I describe above.

A bit of lateral thinking required here. If you can only identify those who
*do* match, the unmatched ones are all the rest!

Look at Compare two file for duplicates in Legacy Help. You can tag all
the records it finds which you think *are* a match and then all the one who
aren't tagged are the ones you need to look at more closely and see if you
want to import or add them.
