Good Morning everyone,
I am brand new to Legacy, having just downloaded the free version to
practice with. I have been using RootsMagic for 10 years. I want to
import my Ancestry tree to my computer with the photos and copies of the
documents that I have attached to my people. Is that possible
At this time only Family Tree Maker 2012 and 2014 can one download the tree and
media from Ancestry.
You can only download a GEDCOM to be imported to any other program.
Sorry.
Thanks,

Ann,
Other than Family Tree Maker (owned by Ancestry.com) you wont find a
program that can accept a download from Ancestry. Regardless of which
program you use, you will only be able to import a GEDCOM from Ancestry.

On the Descendant tab when the Edit command box is selected and
clicked the program freezes and can only be shut down through task

Norma,

Then as you customize you display, do the items

thank you both for that information. I was just about to download all that
info. Yuck... I wish I could use this program

Legacy will not do a direct import from Family Tree Maker, only GEDCOM.
The other program that you inquired about a direct import from will only
import from Family Tree Maker 2006 and earlier.

No, you didn't. You have to have a place to post it online (your own web

Thanks for that! It was a mess, but a lot clearer mess actually. I was

Until such time as you upload those web pages to a web site somewhere,
they're not online and only you can see them.
Take another look at one of the pages in your web browser - see the URL
