Jay, Why do you renumber the RINs. In over 24 years I have never renumbered my RINs. Indeed to do so would change the URLs for all my pedigree web pages which uses them as the file name, hence rendering useless any bookmarks made by visitors and totally messing up search engine returns.

Either way Ron, My implication is that renumbering RIN's is the best for MY use of the database, IN YOUR situation, I can see the trouble it would cause. REnumbering RIN's just ensures there are no deleted id number rows and allows for the best possible compacting of the database, thereby
