Yes, the use of locations has been discussed many times here.
They are also based on today’s “Postal Codes” which did not exist that long ago.
Bottom line: they are only based on today’s world and no history.
Treat them as suggestions for today’s world,

One thing, Overbrook shows to be in present day Love County which is nowhere
near Nowata. I have never done research in OK before so maybe there are two
Overbrooks but Animap confirms this. According to Animap, Overbrook was in the
Pickens District within the Chickasaw Nation in 1892.
