I run a working file, and every so often I merge it with the master file.
On this merge, no individuals were added, but the number of families went up
from 420 to 574. A Potential problems report showed only one pre-existing
entry -somebody born before his parents' marriage.
Any suggestions
There is a Master List of marriages. Would this help? Go to View Marriage
List, or simply CTRL - M. You can sort the marriages by husband, by wife, by
their first name (either partner), or simply by MRIN.

I meant to add that all those Unknowns aren't adding to the count of
individuals, only marriages.

They may all be spurious - but some may be holding the link between siblings.

our merge we have now made it a standard procedure to check for duplicate
parents / duplicate marriages created as a result of auto-merge and

Hi All I have just discovered the Search the IGI
botton in Legacy. Boy! Does it work nice. I know the
IGI has a lot of errors but the Legacy search is
marvelous. And when you do find something to add to
your file Legacy puts a source on it and a download
