Fellow Listers,
Recently upgraded to V6 from V5, now I can't get 1/2 children
1/2 siblings to show.
and... on Family View, it used to show the number shaded if one
of the children were deceased, I can't find the option if it's there.
Anyone having the same problems??
1. In Family View rightclick on any child. Click View, and choose for Show
1/2 siblings
2. Options Customize Tab Data Format.. Check Highlight Living Individuals
and with Select Color choose color.

Peter,
I actually use the Alt. entries quite frequently. Often one discovers
conflicting evidence (or less than evidence!) for a date. I would
enter all the alternatives as Alt. dates and cite each individually,
even if later discarded. That way a record is preserved that you have

Sure. For 1/2 children, RIGHT click on a number beside the child. One of
the options is 1/2 children.
For indication of which children are deceased, go to Customize Format
Data Format tab and activate the Living Indicator. If it is already on, it
is possible the color being used is the same
Hi Elsie, sorry for the misunderstanding - I am only using Legacy (but

Denis, (Rob Steve),
Thanks for your explanations. The Alt term makes more sense now. I'll have
to determine a way to make any use of them proactive as opposed to them just
sitting there dormantly, Perhaps getting them on to to do lists?
I'm off to think aboutthem but I won't yet delete them.
OK, thanks. Sorry.

I have a stack of wills I'd like to enter into Legacy in some orderly
fashion. How are some of you doing it? Are you just typing the entire will
into Research notes, or typing the entire thing into an event for Will? I

I'd create a will event, create a SOURCE entry for that, and put the salient
