Robert,
Do a search. Create a focus group for each color group. The colors start
with the grandparents. The focus group would be the direct line ancestors
each of your four grandparents. You can name the report the Blue line, Green
line, etc. and print what you want.

It happened to me after I did the last update. I tried about 4 times. Even
though NOTHING has changed in the following - I have to go to
Options/Customize/Other/TurnOn or Off Optional Reminders and then change
something - anything - and save. Usually the 2nd time I do this it works
again.
It's happened to me sporadically. Thought I was dozing
at the screen and just missed it... :) I also had to
go into the routine Sharon described.

Yes, it's happening to me too...since the last update! I'm glad someone
mentioned it, I thought it was only me.
I've gone into Customize and did the adjusting...then sometimes it will work
and then again it won't work. I have to try and remember to go to File and
click on Backup.

Debbie,
This was an enhancement added with build 6.0.0.99. If you have not made any
changes to your database since you last opened Legacy, it won't ask to
backup and just close.

You need to be more clear when you say you want to merge two or more
virtually identical sources. In Legacy there
In the past I have marked separate individual's with the same name and similar

more individuals and cannot remember how to do it and cannot find it in the

I am trying to figure out how to enter my sources for several obituaries taken
from files located at a state genealogical library. The obituaries have been
photocopied from different newspapers and are in loose leaf notebooks arranged
by County, then dates, and indexed on a computer.

Well, I may have answered my own question, but I'd still be interested in
hearing if this sounds like it is not the 'proper' thing to do. I left my
source list name as it was with the newspaper as the title. I went to the
Repository tab and entered the name of the society file along with the FO
Hi folks,
I'd like to make a few suggestions to everyone in the LUG that I believe
might be helpful.
First, when you respond to question or suggestion from another list member,
please do so on the list, rather than back-channel, unless the response is
of a personal nature. That way we can all
Personally I would go about citing this source in a completely different
way, but would be interested in seeing what others have to say.
I'd show the notebook or notebooks themselves as the Master Source (since
that's what you actually looked at), with the genealogical society as the

I am considering my first PDA. The model looking like it comes closest
to fitting my budget/needs is Palm Tungsten E2 retailing at around $180,
with 32mb of memory. A $60 keyboard is an add-on option also being
considered.
My Legacy file contains about 1,800 names with a sizeable picture
Gary,
In a nutshell:
Gedstar - Works on the Palm OS and is only READ ONLY. There was chatter a
long time ago that the company was not even thinking of making it sync with
Legacy.
Pocket Genealogist - Works on the Windows CE / Windows Mobile platforms and
