Well, they can come from an imported Gedcom. That is my first guess if you
have not set the Child Status yet, but are seeing the setting nonetheless.
To get there, the easiest way is to RIGHT click on a child. Scan the the

Jan, where were you in in Legacy when this happened? It +should+ work.
Under General Notes for an individual, pressing ALT-156 did give me the
pound symbol.
Pressing ALT-S took me to the sources menu.
Try it again. If it continues to not to work for you, we can report it to
