As I added individuals to the database over the past few years, I
flip-flopped between sorting Events by Date or by Type. Now I would like
to have them all sorted by Date. Is there some way to do a global sort
for all Events? Or must I open each individual file to do this?

are
cousins? Would our dad be our uncle? After all he was married to our
aunt.

In my event list I have Residence and have selected the fourth
sentence structure option
[HeShe] lived [at Place] [onDate] .[Sources] [Notes]
Now in my .rtf report I have this

I am using the most current build of Legacy 6.
I found a birth date for an ancestor on his WW I draft registration card
that is better than what I've had for him, which was just the year.
I entered the draft card birth date as an Alt. Birth event, entering the

I updated to v 6.00.79 a couple of days ago.
When I check HelpGeneral Information, it says this is the build
installed.
On the Legacy Home tab, Updates section, it agrees that this is the
version installed ... however, it also says Unsuccessful Check.
And when I click on Legacy News, I get this

When you update the program you effectively have a new piece
of software. Hence your firewall is probably now blocking it.
I use Norton and after every update it asks me if I want to
allow Legacy to access the Internet

Norton isn't asking me if I want to block
Is this why there are breaks within words in the information in the
Legacy-generated gedcom I posted to RootsWeb's WorldConnect? Do I need
to create the gedcom with the Break lines between words (old) style
option box ticked in order to have it read smoothly?
Thanks,

I have used TreeDraw for a year or so and am completely satisfied with
its performance and output.

The problem with using the place name from the time period
the event occurred is that, without the same amount of work
we did to find the name, other researchers will have a more

My thanks to those who responded. I was trying to help out a fellow
Legacy user unable to post to the list and was not clear on his goal
regarding this situation. I believe Brian's suggestion to override the
default that adds an Unknown and some thoughtfully worded Notes will
resolve the issue.
The Legacy Home Tab does not have to be the first screen. You have
several choices.
Click on OptionsCustomizeGeneral
Then, in the Program Start-up section, click on the bullet that indicate
which view you want to see when Legacy opens.

I have a few cases where I know there were more children than I have
names because some of the US censuses asked how many children were born
of a mother and how many of them are living at the count. I enter the
ones I know and then add Child #10, Child #11, Child #12, etc to fill
out the brood. I
