ugly slurs at \break

One of the things that still troubles me is how to make un-ugly slurs with lily, esp when the slur is over a linebreak. The tools I use are height, attachment and sometimes extra-offset. Are there other (better) ways to go about this? The included (constructed) .ly shows two problematic slurs

In the docs chord names seem to be somewhat connected with the notes in the music. I don't want to have any automagic connection between the music and the chord symbols. Maybe I still don't understand how to generate some of the chord names. In particular I need to generate a minor chord
