Hello,
If you want, you could reformat and move a few things around to make a nice
multi-column layout. Would that be perhaps a solution to what you're
looking for? That would let you make use of the space next to your score
content (empty space).

Hey everyone, this is my first post. I'm somewhat new to lilypond... I've
been using it for a year now and I am completely in love with it. I'm still
learning and could use some help
Thats a great snippet! I guess I'm not quite sure how to implement it... I
get the part about aligning the text but how do I include a \score into a
column and then text into another?

Have you looked to see if this exists? At
http://lilypond.org/download/binaries/documentation/lilypond-2.17.20-1.documentation.tar.bz2
for example, as shown on the development page?

Hi Phil and Nick,
Yes, I know and see this bz2 file, no problem.
I was just confused by the earlier email of Nick about the PDF
portfolio and I jumped to a *wrong* conclusion.
Sorry about the noise.

Hi Andrew,
there's a section on that topic in the notation reference (e.g. for LP
version 2.16):

So, to answer your question: It is indeed!

Unfortunately the current implementation of footnote and auto-footnote
do not work in \lyricmode. This is a known defect, see
