Have you tried defining the devices as a basic mode CTC (BCTC) instead of
SCTC? Even some IBM products don't support SCTC devices.

No, I wasn't even sure linux supported SCTC at all. Some things don't.
If SCTC is supported by linux, forget BCTC. My understanding is that
BCTC behaves more like a 3088 does. When SCTC first came along, only
VTAM and MVS/ESA XCF supported it.

We are running Samba 2.2.3a. We wont upgrade to 2.2.4 just yet because of

Here's something you don't see every day. Two reputable and veteran IT
research outfits --- Giga and META --- taking diametrically opposite
positions on an issue. The META Group has released a stinging report that
Ghostscript is fairly CPU intensive. I've not really used it much on

normally used as a console when we're running an OS/390 test image in that
LPAR. I've read somewhere about UTS Global developing a Linux/390 3270
driver but I'm not sure if that can be exploited for what we want.
