membership to determine the authority granted to a particular queue or object. BUT - there are some limitations - see the bottom of the note for a discussion of the limitations. Here are my basic steps: 1 - Dedicate a zLinux image to MQ Server. 2 - Modify /etc/ldap.conf, /etc/nssswitch.conf, /etc/samba

tweak the nsswitch.conf and/or pam.d/system-auth to prevent that, but it hasn't been a priority for me. My first goal was to get MQ running on zLinux to properly enumerate group membership through AD to determine an individual user's authority to MQ objects. Now our short off-line correspondence

MQ on zLinux

We are considering consolidating 60+ MQ servers onto zLinux (across 2 IFL's). Does this seem doable? Are there network considerations with this? Currently the 60 servers reside on the same raised floor sharing the same network backbone so I don't forsee any problems but I could be wrong. thx

Do those 60 MQ Servers do any real work? From our brief stint of testing with MQ on zLinux it is a resource hog CPU/MEMORY/IO. I don't have any numbers on performance, but MQ can be rather Computensive especially when using Persistency. I would have to guess that 2 IFL's may not do the trick
