Hi All,
We ordered TSM for Z/VM and IBM tells us that it is no longer supported
for Z/VM,
So we're thinking of using Bacula under ZLinux to backup some
distributed platforms.
How does Bacula interface with 3590 Tape drives, Does it Talk via a
Escon channel to the A60
Or Does it communicate
I want to build a bacula server.

Hi
I'm trying to define a tape drive to Linux so that I can add it to the
bacula-sd.conf file.
I presume this is just a file under the /dev dirctory
Do I do this with YAST?
This is going to interface the changer file and the Z/vm tape mount server

Hi All
I`m trying to get a 3490 tape drive working with bacula from VM.
This is where I am.
Installed the Z/vm utilities. BACULATM and RAWBACULA and well as the labeling

I can get the tape online from Linux with the command chccwdev - e 0.0.0181.
But when I run ./btape -c

Just a few questions.
Should I be using ANSI or IBM Tape Labels. Which is preferable?
Should all the Tapes be labeled with VM and them and them added to
Bacula. Ie not labeled with Bacula.
Do you them update the changer list?
The other problem I have is that RAWBACIF cannot find
Hi
I'm trying to get the SNA scripts working with Bacula, I've managed to
get the Slots, Lists and Unload Commands working.
However, when I issue a Loaded or Load command. The Tape drive is given
to Vm and returned to the Linux Guest, But it is not put back online on
the Linux side.
Hi All
I have now attached the tape to my Linux guest as MULTIUSER.
But I can't use the GIVE command to Give it to the Guest running the
Baculatm script on VM

Though I would create a separate Lpar with Z/VM and 2 X Z/OS guests (Prod an

3) Does Z/VM 5.4 run on a Z114?
