Hi
I managed to get a reiserfs filesystem corruption in a number of
computers. In the logs I ssee the message:
__alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed
From looking at the source I could only ssee that it means something is
fishy. From searching I see many related messages around kernel-2.4.10

0 order allocation failed means the kernel couldn't allocate even one
page of memory. Unless the machines are pretty much out of memory,
that should

Arabeyes are trying to add bidi support the debian installer.
They are looking for help, read about it:

They asked the debian maintainer to hack it, but he did not. I think the

Hi all,
I remember having this problem years ago and that it was a simple fix
but I just can't remember how.
I try starting an X program and I get the following:
theone:/home/aamehl# xev
Xlib: connection to :0.0 refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
xev: unable to open display ':0.0'
Hi All,
I want to thank you all for your ideas.
I eventually fixed the problem - by chance (Murphy's...).
I have asked my Cable company to provide me with a fixed IP, so I can
rid of the annoying DHCP client (which I suspected).
No my computer boots a lot faster and the apps start 80% faster

what does 'xhost' say? does 'xhost +localhost' or 'xhost +' help? be

That's interesting (didn't know Macs used SMB), I thought you would
use Appletalk support in Linux. Any reason to prefer SMB over Appletalk?
Hi folks. I've been lately trying to get hebrew support

setting various fonts, but all of them seem to display

in the console? I wanted ot know if it's actually
possible.

This is the dangerous way of using xhost: it allowes everyone to use your
display. Better specify xhost +machine_from_which_I_execute
