-freedos
instead of
apt-get install dosemu?
When I try to install dosemu-freedos after removing dosemu
I get an error message that there are unmet dependencies.
Can anyone help me get dosemu installed properly?

In my previous version of dosemu I had two instances of the command

What did these commands do?
Is there any

Eventually I did alt-F4 to exit.
Next I removed dosemu with
apt-get remove dosemu.
Then I tried
apt-get install dosemu-freedos
and was told there are unmet dependencies.
I did not install the xfonts-terminus-dos package.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to add a DEB repository?

I'm not an expert on fontconfig, but have you checked that X uses the

Hi Larry,
I'm sure it's a typo, but you are grepping for 10x30 when the font you're
interested is 12x30. :-)

that worked ok but I'd like
to get the 12x30 working.
I renamed fonts.alias and fonts.dir and re-ran mkfontdir but fonts.alias
was not created. Is there a special command to do that?
Thanks for your help.

Could anyone give me any information on getting a nice bright white

My only remaining problem is that I cannot get colors in the directory
listing - just had to throw that off thread statement in.

How to tell which dosemu version I have?
I _believe_ my version used to be 1.3.3.
For my new install of Kubuntu Feisty first copied over the old
~/.dosemu and then used apt-get dosemu
to install it.
aptitude -vv show dosemu
reports version 1.2.2.8

echo %DOSEMU_VERSION% reported 1.3.3.0 but that doesn't square with the
fact that I used apt-get
