If it would be helpful to demonstrate the live tv part of myth??

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem you discrube here with a Ubuntu
Feisty 32bit system, and also struggled to find a proper solution.
In the end i worked around the problem by creating a startup script
that runs before x starts to remove the loaded nvidia module, and

My application would be very similar to this. I think with proper
iptable rules setup on the host, and proper configuration of vmware

give the setup a bit of a work-out and see how it looks.
Thanks for all the feed-back,
Looks like this is to do with the way this directory is mounted on
your linux workstation.
You could set uid,gid in your workstations fstab file to the uid,gid

think you can set a mask for these, but can't remember

you running the firewall natively? (i.e. what would be the advantage
of virtualisation for this application?)
Kerry.

Change you /etc/fstab line to read:
//machine.domain/directorytomount /mnt/directory cifs
auto,defaults,credentials=/root/.sambapasswords 0 0
Any fstab entry with auto here will try to mount at startup.

Linux is way more flexible, and i think a much better utilisation of hardware
