Hey,
Does anyone know where i can learn to write a REBOL script?
Your absolutely right. You can get it cheaper through amazon or ecampus or
whatever. But there is another issue at hand here. When you buy the book
through Rebol Press you are directly supporting Rebol. This is a give a
little get a lot situation. We've all gotten a lot from Rebol now
Dear Paul:
Please do not attribute the troubles of others to meg.
In no way would I do that to you Ralph 8-) And if it appeared that I was
attacking you I certainly appologies. My target is the marketing animal,
not the people that do honest work.

I note that you don't say which September. Is this going to be like the
"Offical Guide" that was coming in October then January then June then...?
Or is there really going to be a book on the book store shelves in
September?
Sorry if I seem skeptical but Microsoft's marketing strategy seems
That did it, Thank you.

Is the book available yet, or not?
No, but soon.
Thanks.

Thank you. Amazon.com is showing a release date of January 2000. I'm a
little concern that with such a late release date that the book will be
severly outdated before it ever hits the stands. Do I have good reason for
this concern?

I tried for several days to get REBOL to work with PWS and never did
succeed. Save yourself the grief and go to OMNI HTTPd. It's free and
behaves quite well with REBOL. You can get it at:

OK, OK I have been dually chastized :-)
The point that I was trying to make was: I feel that were REBOL to follow
the pricing/Marketing example of Turbo Pascal, and price their product so
that it is redally available to the masses combined with a top notched
marketing plan I believe that
Absolutely correct. My comments about smart marketing are meant for Turbo
not Borland. I agree Borland did a steller job of turning everything they
touched into c---.
It's good to hear from a fellow North Carolinian. I'm over here on the

I don't know about the subject; but I came upon this page and have been

Thanks for the heads-up Ed. I'm still trying with no success as yet. I'll
give it a couple more days then just put it on the NT/IIS box and see how
that works.

I tried for ages to get PWS to work with rebol but could not get it to
work.
I ended up giving up and using Apache instead
Thanks Sterling. I tried the Windows 95 setup as discribed, but am haveing
the same results. I'll need to go back and double check my entries to see
if I might have made a mistake in setting it up.
I appreciate the NT information as well because thats the next step in my
learning schedule.
I'm trying to use Microsoft Personal Web Server to run my REBOL/CGI scripts;
but I can't get them to run. Instead I keep getting the download dialog box.
Could someone please help me setup PWS to use REBOL/CGI scripts?
I am a newbie to REBOL and CGI. I would greatly appreciate any help that
I agree hole heartedly Elan. In the back of my mind I am seeing "Turbo

college at the time. It was owned by every geek on campus. When every

Actually, if I recall correctly, their pricing is relatively low. Correct
