If you're smart enough to -tie- frets, you're smart enough to -tighten- frets. It takes less time to do than describe. Seriously-- why are people --replacing-- loose frets?? Baffled, Sterling Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone Original message

I assume you're talking about fluorocarbon. If so, while it's pretty pliable and easy to knot, it's also relatively hard. Its knots can gouge into the wood of a neck with enough slippage over great lengths of time. Best, Eugene -Original Message- From: lute-...@cs.dartmouth.edu

Dear lute netters, in D-LEm II.6.15 (sometime incorrectly called Dlugoraj MS) there is a concordance for Guedron's Est ce mars. On page 463 I read "Freundlich hoflich dhin darbei". Of course, this is nonsense. Any idea or a film anybody? Rainer To get on or off this list see list

Hi Martyn - That is a bogus address. Because anti-spam measures are really fierce these days I have to send out many messages with a fake “From: “ address. The real address is in the “Reply=To:” filed which you may not see in your mail reader without asking for all the headers.

A very good tip, John, as is the idea of pre-wetting the fret material. I wish I had thought of that these last few years, suffering from severely slipping frets in similar changing conditions. However, as I had resorted to a nylgut chanterelle, which quickly frays gut frets, I
