a word of caution! inkscape does a poor job converting to eps and pdf. inkscape developers are well aware of this and they are contemplating hiring a programmer to do a svg-ps library. among the problems are scaling, cropping, and clippaths which results in bad output. if you donnot use these

I think so: FR doesn't work inside ERT, so far as I know. If you want to do that kind of thing, try opening the LyX file in a pure text editor and making the changes there. You need to be careful not to mess up the format of the file, though. Another option is to LaTeX, make your changes to that,

I think so: FR doesn't work inside ERT, so far as I know. If you want to do that kind of thing, try opening the LyX file in a pure text editor and making the changes there. You need to be careful not to mess up the format of the file, though. Another option is to LaTeX, make your changes to that,

LyX works extremely well under the Windows operating system! Outside the office away from the ones own computer, I've been using LyX 1.3.3-Win32 on a USB stick. It works extremely well and enables me to access, edit and spell check my fieldnotes, in visiting institutions, by running LyX
