Have you looked at File New from Template thesis Acknowledgments.lyx? I would try copying its contents into your thesis. (Note: the template may ask you to let it create a dummy thesis document. You can delete that document once you've determined whether pasting into your actual thesis works.)

Hello Daisuke, I would like to know whether there is a way LyX won't break up paragraphs between pages. A cursory web search showed that older versions of LyX had a window to specify paragraph breaks, but I can't seem to find it in the current version. Perhaps something like this can help

aps something like this can help a bit: http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=nopagebrk In the case you need it just once, you can try to set penalty at the particular place sufficiently high. For more info check Knuth's TeX book, stuff on penalty (google term: tex book pdf). Best, Peter.
